The Plot
Newlyweds Thomas and Ellen Hutter should be perfectly happy. When Thomas is sent away from Wisburg to finalize the sale of a run-down manor, the man who returns is not the same. In his absence, Ellen’s mind is flooded with visions - memories - of a woman. Her presence is chilling and powerful and yet she understands something in Ellen that no one ever had.
Thomas' relatives, the harsh shipyard owner Friedrich Harding and his wife Anna, with the help of doctor Sievers and the unconventional yet knowledgeable professor Van Helsing, try everything in their power to help Ellen, who starts questioning whether she even wants to be helped. On the dark waves of the stormy sea a ship sails towards an unaware town and its passengers are disease, death, and the reaper herself.
And as the plaguefilled ship crashes on the shores of Wisburg, we witness terror and fear, dreams and desires, and Ellen Hutter’s life forever changed as her calls for kinship are finally answered.
